V.P.I. - VACUUM PRESSURE IMPREGNATION

VPI is the proven method for applying insulating resin to electrical windings to seal them from harsh environmental conditions.  If your facility is subject to an atmosphere that interferes with motor life or performance you should speak to a BIRCLAR specialist to determine if VPI is a solution for you.

BIRCLARS VPI System has a vacuum vessel (working capacity) of 72" diameter by 102" deep.  The vacuum vessel rests in a 4 foot pit to allow loading with an overhead crane.

Here an 800 HP stator is lowered into the vacuum vessel to begin the VPI process.

Here is a newly rewound stator that has just completed the vacuum pressure impregnation treatment.
